What's this all about?
Aston has revealed its 2016 model year cars and alongside tweaks for the Vantage and Rapide S there's a new version of the DB9, called the GT.
Still looks great, huh?
Certainly does, and this one is embellished with a black splitter and diffuser, GT engraving and special wheels on the outside, along with unique Glen Coe leather upholstery and GT embroidery on the inside. That is, of course, if you can resist the long options list.
Ah, sky's the limit, is it?
More or less. Buyers can have a One-77 inspired 'square' steering wheel, Duotone leather, loads of carbon fibre trinkets and bright colour finishes for the centre console if they so desire.
Anything else new about the interior?
Most notably the fitment of Aston's new touchscreen infotainment system called AMi II. In fact, that's the most significant change to the 2016MY Vantage and Rapide S too.
So nothing new under the bonnet?
Actually, Aston has uprated the mellifluous 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine, now producing 547hp and 620Nm of torque, the most grunt any DB9 has been endowed with. The top speed is 183mph and it will apparently hit 62mph from rest in 4.5 seconds.
Any idea of cost?
In the UK, the DB9 GT costs £140,000 and is on sale now. The new model year Vantage and Rapide S cars won't go on sale until the third quarter of 2015, but interested parties should get themselves along to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend to see them in action.
