What's this then?
Toyota has released a new Hilux range topper, the Hilux Invincible X. The rugged workhorse has had a makeover with plenty of new styling elements, which are available as no-cost options on the Invincible trim level.
What 'extras' are available on the Invincible X?
There is a choice of four designs for the 17-inch alloy wheels and chrome for the tubular sidebars as well as a rear hi-over bar. Alternatively new owners can opt for the Style pack that includes a front guard, silver coloured under run, aluminium scuff plates, chrome door handles and chrome surrounds for the bonnet air intakes and rear lights.
In the Double Cab, there is a choice of four colours for the leather upholstery each embossed with the X logo to remind owners they have purchased the top of the range Hilux.
The Invincible X is packed with plenty of standard equipment including sports seats, climate control, a rear view camera, cruise control, adjustable heated mirrors and Toyota's touch 2 touchscreen multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity.
What engines are available?
The Invincible X is available solely in Double Cab form with a 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engine churning out 170hp to all four wheels thanks to permanent four-wheel drive. It can tow a maximum payload of 2.8 tonnes. To help drivers attack all types of terrain, the Invincible X is fitted with an auto-disconnecting differential.
When will it be available?
The Toyota Hilux Invincible X is available to order now with deliveries starting in late February. Prices, excluding VAT, start at £23,842 for the manual and a £1,000 premium for the automatic at £24,842.
