What's all this about?
MINI is continuing the almost-infinite-personalisation-of-its-products game with a new Sport Pack for the three- and five-door hatchback models.
How much is it?
Depending on which model you opt for, the Sport Pack ranges from £3,300 (Cooper S and SD) up to £4,500 (One and One D).
Cor, that's not exactly cheap. Why should I bother?
Because MINI claims it will add up to 25 per cent to the car's residual value (RV) come resale time, building upon the MINI's already 'class-leading' RV.
What do I get for my cash?
On top of the Chili Pack content, on all models you'll get cloth/leather Diamond upholstery, a multifunction John Cooper Works steering wheel, bonnet stripes, 17-inch Track Spoke alloys (in either silver or black) and a John Cooper Works aero kit with attendant JCW roof spoiler. Also included are JCW door sill finishers, floor mats, a storage compartment pack, anthracite headlining with Piano Black dash trim, auto headlights and wipers, dual zone climate control, an interior lights pack, MINI Driving Modes, passenger seat height adjustment and the enigmatic MINI Excitement Pack. There's plenty for your money, no doubt of that.
So it's basically just a styling kit, then?
Nope, on the four Cooper-badged cars, you'll also get Sport suspension. This is not added to the One and One D, regrettably.
And when can I order this Sport Pack?
It's available in MINI dealerships right now.
