Remember that McLaren 675LT (for 'Longtail') we told you about last week? Well, we have a few more snippets of information on this glorious new road-going supercar from Woking.
Such as?
We now know that, to back up its headline power of 675hp, the LT's 3.8-litre V8 engine also has a 22Nm torque increase over the 650S engine to a peak 700Nm, made between 5,500- and 6,500rpm. This is limited to 600Nm in first gear, to try to afford the mega 675LT some traction off the line, while the increased output figures are thanks to two new turbos for the V8 and the use of lightweight componentry in the engine's make-up.
Is that all?
Nope, the car has a new titanium exhaust system too, a crossover set-up that makes a fabulous noise. There's a teaser video of it below so you can hear for yourself. Meanwhile, the LT part of its badging means the 675 develops 40 per cent more downforce than a 650S, thanks to its 'Active Longtail Airbrake'. This is McLaren-speak for the car's 'longer arse end'.
Will we know more about it soon?
Yes, McLaren will release further details ahead of the 2015 Geneva show, although the main glut of information will come when the car is revealed at the Swiss event.
