What the hell is that?

That is 'Hoonicorn' - Ken Block's one-off Ford Mustang that starred in the epic Gymkhana Seven.

Who would build such a thing?

Well Block himself with the help of RTR - the tuning company owned by drift star Vaughan Gittin Jr. Hoonicorn started out life as a 1965 Mustang notchback, but clearly this ain't no 50-year old car. For a start the stock engine has been replaced with a race-bred 6.7-litre V8 from Roush Yates that produces 845hp and 980Nm of torque.

How much power?

That's right, 845 of the finest American ponies. That is fed to the tarmac (or asphalt as it's American) via a six-speed Sadev sequential transmission and a one-off all-wheel drive system.

Wait, that's a four-wheel drive 1965 Mustang? Purists are going to love that!

I'm not sure Kenny from the Block is truly concerned about purists, though it should be noted that the car was first displayed at SEMA on the Ford stand.

Why does it look so evil?

Apparently the inspiration for the styling is a cross between current WRC cars - which of course Mr Block drives - DTM racers and some of the Matchbox and Hot Wheel stuff Kenny had as a kid.
