Poker professionals come in all shapes and sizes; some super successful, others fairly successful - and some not as successful as they would ideally like to be. However, the players that have reached the top of their profession certainly have a bit of spare cash to burn, with many opting to spend it on new cars.
The question is: just which car would you purchase if money was no object? For a little bit of help, you can see what cars a selection of poker professionals have bought in recent years by reading on.
Daniel Negreanu - Tesla Model S
Just a year ago, Daniel Negreanu - the world's highest earning tournament poker player of all time - claimed via Twitter that he was looking to treat himself to a new car. Initially he was looking at the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, though after many followers declared that the Tesla Model S offered better performance, he was swayed and went for that instead.
With career earnings from the game of almost $30 million, there is little doubt that there is any car that he cannot afford, though he claims that his choice was more about practicality than pure performance.
Sam Trickett - Ferrari 458 Spider
Another player that has had a very successful poker career is the British professional Sam Trickett, who is famous for his second place at the World Series of Poker Big One For One Drop in 2012, which catapulted him into the top five earners in the game. He has, of course, had a number of other big wins since then and is one of the most feared players around.
He had a number of cars already but the Ferrari 458 Spider, which he purchased last year, was certainly a reward for himself after his big win in 2012.
John-Robert Bellande - Bentley Continental Convertible
Jean Robert-Bellande likes to play the 'broke' game at every last opportunity, yet he must be one of the richest broke people on the planet considering that he drives an open topped Bentley. He allegedly won the Bentley in a game of poker with Dan Bilzerian, the stuntman turned actor turned poker player turned playboy.
Bellande is certainly not the most successful poker player around but he has still secured around $1.3 million in earnings throughout his career. He even managed to cough up $1 million to take part in the $1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop at the World Series of Poker this year.
Vanessa Rousso - Lamborghini Gallardo
As for one of the world's most successful women poker players, Vanessa Rousso opted for a bright yellow Lamborghini Gallardo back in 2009. She had always dreamed of owning a sports car and she was finally at a point in her career where she could actually treat herself to one. Having career earnings of $3.5 million to her name, you can hardly blame her.
Despite the car being the model from Lamborghini that has been produced the most, she made sure she got an extra rare edition that saw only 5,000 made. It has a computer built in and the seats have all been hand-crafted.
Liv Boeree - Nothing
Liv Boeree is one of the most recognisable faces in poker these days but despite having almost $2 million in career earnings, she does not even own a car. She used to have, up until earlier this year, a seven-year-old 'banger' that she rarely ever used. In a tweet this year she revealed that she had not even seen the car for six months due to travelling the world and had apparently left a window slightly open, resulting in quite a mess when she returned.
She has since got rid of the car but has not decided whether she is in the market for another. We guess that travelling across the world to play in events from the World Series of Poker Main Event, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Caribbean and the UKIPT Galway does not lend too much need for a car.
