What's all this about?
Lord March has once again opened up his stately home residence for automotive enjoyment, this time launching a driving experience business in conjunction with BMW.
What have they called this experience?
It is named, pragmatically, 'Ultimate Driving at Goodwood powered by BMW'.
And what can I do, should I choose to go to Sussex?
There are four key packages to enjoy. First up is 'Adventure', in which you take a BMW X5 or similar around a 32-mile off-road route that winds its way through the entire estate. This incorporates forests, hills and chalk pits, so it should be a good test of man and machine.
I don't like off-roading. Is there any on-tarmac stuff?
Yes, don't worry. 'Performance' sees pretty much anything with an M badge - from the M235i to the M6 - laid on for one-to-one expert tuition in fast driving. 'Academy', meanwhile, allows those under 17 to drive a MINI Cooper on the historic motor circuit, while anyone older than 17 can go on a skidpan for a winter handling session.
You said four packages - what's the last one?
'Ultimate', which allows you to do all of the above, if you so wish.
Can I find out more?
Of course. Social media channels offer further insight into the Goodwood/BMW pairing and the venture has just been launched. It is open to individual customers or to groups. Go to youtube.com/goodwoodtv, www.facebook.com/goodwoodrrc and twitter.com/goodwoodrrc for more details.
