BMW has announced an exclusive addition to the 1 Series model range, the BMW 130i M Sport Limited Edition. The new car is based on the existing 265bhp 130i M Sport, but all Limited Edition models will come in Carbon Black metallic paint with Lemon leather interior. The M Sport Limited Edition also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels in the style of the World Touring Car Championship race wheels.
Other identifying features of the Limited Edition model include Chrome Line window surrounds and a bespoke start/stop button. Items carried over from the standard
BMW 130i M Sport include Aluminium Glacier Silver interior trim, Anthracite headlining, sports seats and suspension, the M aerodynamic body package, M Sports steering wheel and doorsill embellishment and a short-shift M Sport gearstick.
Just 160 M Sport limited Edition cars will be available to the UK and will be priced at £30,270 on-the-road, an increase of £3,815 over the standard 130i M Sport. The M Sport limited Edition will be available from Spring 2007. We've driven the 130i, so look forward to trying what must surely be a teaser for the unveiling of the new BMW M3 at the
Geneva Show.
In a busy start to 2007, BMW has also announced new M Sport models for the
3 Series Coupé and Convertible cars. M Sport trim is available on all engine sizes in the 3 Series range and offers increased equipment levels over the existing SE models. M Sport models have an M Sport aerodynamic body styling package, stiffer and 15mm lower sports suspension, 18-inch M star-spoke alloy wheels (with 19-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels as an option). Inside the M Sport cars there are sports seats in Blue Shadow Cloth Alcantara, Anthracite headlining, M Sports steering wheel and doorsill embellishment and a short-shift M Sport gearstick. M Sport models will only be available in Titanium Silver, Black Sapphire, Le Mans Blue, Sparkling Graphite (all metallic), Alpine White and Crimson Red (non-metallic).
Prices range from the 320i M Sport Coupé at £28,330 on-the-road to £40,250 on-the-road for the top of the range 335i M Sport Convertible. M Sport models traditionally account for more than 75% of all sales; BMW expects the ratio to remain the same for the new 3 Series M Sport models.
