Snippet: Honda buys into BAR F1 team - 2005 Honda
Following a superb second place for the BAR team in the Formula One constructors' championship this year, Honda has firmed up its commitment to the series by buying 45% of the UK-based team. Be in no doubt that Honda wants to return to the heady days of winning championships. Gaining more control over the organisation is seen as a step closer to that goal. It is thought that Dave Richards will step down from his position as team boss.

Snippet: Jordan GP to use Toyota engines in 2005 - 2005
Things were tough enough for the smaller teams in F1, with rising costs and an increasing gap between them and the cash-rich teams, but the news that the Ford Motor Company was pulling out, and taking its Cosworth engines with it, was a potential death knell for Minardi and Jordan in particular. Thankfully, Toyota has agreed to sell engines to the Jordan team. The deal that lasts for the 2005 season only, but should help the Irish team regain some respect on the grid.

Snippet: Cadillac and Corvette set for Britain - 2005 General Motors
Identifying Britain as the second largest market in Europe, Bob Lutz (Chairman of General Motors) announced that the Cadillac and Corvette brands were to make an official comeback to the UK. The first Cadillac and Corvette showroom opened this week on Park Lane in London. Sadly, there are no plans as yet to produce right-hand drive versions of the Corvette, though the BMW 5-series rivalling Cadillac CTS will be available as a right hooker from 2005.

We have much to thank the WRC for: pioneering four-wheel drive systems, bonkers homologation specials and cars like this: the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8. Basically, the Evo is a road going version of the full-on world rally car and is part of a breed with a cult-like following amongst enthusiasts.
