The new-look Daewoo Nubira 1.8 CDX was good value for money at £11,995 on-the-road in the UK. However, Daewoo has now thrown in leather trim and satellite navigation for free, until the end of September at any rate. Coupled with 3 years of free servicing, warranty and AA cover, the Nubira certainly stacks up financially. The new model even looks quite good. We hope to drive it later in the year.

Snippet: Suzuki launches special edition Grand Vitara V6 - 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara (2.5 V6 X-EC)
Suzuki has launched a 2.5-litre V6-powered special edition Grand Vitara, titled the X-EC. It sits between the 2.0-litre 5-door estate and the longer XL-7 2.7 V6 in the range. For £16,999 (add another £950 for the auto), buyers will be treated to a high level of standard equipment including leather trim and alloy wheels. The V6 petrol engine pushes out a respectable 156bhp and 153lb.ft of torque, allowing the Vitara to tow up to 1,850kg.

Review: 2004 Volkswagen Touareg 2.5 TDI review - 2004 Volkswagen Touareg (2.5 TDI 174PS 6-speed auto brief drive)
Earlier this year, VW released an entry-level version of the mighty Touareg: the 2.5 TDI. The 5-cylinder engine is essentially half the V10 Diesel engine used in the top of the range Touareg model, and at just under £31,000 on the road poses a considerable saving on the larger engined model.
