SAAB TO UNVEIL UNIQUE ENGINE CONCEPT AT GENEVA MOTOR SHOW

Saab has developed an entirely new engine concept that delivers ground-breaking levels of power and fuel economy.

The unique Saab Variable Compression (SVC) engine will be presented at this year’s Geneva Motor Show as a major leap forward in the development of petrol engine technology. The adjustable compression ratio allows much greater operating efficiency, delivering a level of specific power outputs never seen before in series production engines, as well as considerable gains in fuel consumption.

Developed in Sweden by Saab’s own engineers, the innovative SVC engine can also run on fuels of different types and quality. As the compression ratio is now a variable parameter, vast new opportunities will be opened up for controlling the work and efficiency of the engine even more accurately.

The SVC engine goes on display at the Saab stand at the Geneva Show from 29 February. It will be unveiled during a special press conference the night before, to be held at Geneva’s Museum of Modern Art and Design.
